Wine, Wine, Wine
How do you like it, how do you like it?
Personally, I love a good rose but really can’t go wrong with any kind of vino. As a DIYer I tend to be hoarder. Can you relate? Sure you can. If not get ready to join the club. Now for some reason I have a collection of wine bottles and have been looking for something to do with them. REPURPOSE! I etched my empty wine bottle and now it can be used as a olive oil dispenser but you can etch bottles that are still full of wine and make it a gift.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Wine bottle
- Armour Etch glass etching cream
- Painter’s tape (I used stencil tape)
- Paint brush or Stippler brush
- Bottle dispenser spout (optional)
Soak your bottle in warm soapy water to remove the label.
Using tape secure your stencil firmly on your bottle. Make sure to burnish the edges so there is no leaking. If you don’t have a stencil you can make your own with contact paper.
Apply a generous coating of etching cream to the whole design with a paint brush or stippler brush, let sit for approximately 5-10 minutes.
Rinse well under running water to remove all traces of the cream.
Remove stencil to expose etched areas.
(It may be hard to see the etching when the bottle is wet; dry it off to get a better look at it.
How do you repurpose your wine bottles?
