Home Made Luxe DIY Kit Product Review

Pinning is a habit get like me

Raise your hand if you have 6,000,000 Pinterest boards. Now raise your hand if you have zero completed projects. Pinterest such a magical place where great ideas can be found, real life is where those same ideas go to die. Depressing much? Whether it is time or motivation there seems to be a disconnect between hopeful Pinner and active crafter. There is a solution.

Home Made LuxeDIY Kit- Product Review

Home Made Luxe is a home decor subscription box created by Keitha Moseley-Dendy of The Bajan Texan.  Each month subscribers receive a kit that contains all the materials you need to create your very own decor project. That means no trips to the arts and crafts store, no more excuses. Keitha was gracious enough to gift me a box and I made my own terrarium!

The box was neatly packed with very thorough and detailed written instructions plus a few images of the finished product so you know exactly what to expect. Another awesome feature is that she provides a link for a video tutorial.

Although I knew all the materials were included, I was genuinely surprised that a box cutter was a part of the package. It really is the little things that count. Yes those are drinking straws you see, how crafty is that? You know I love crafts from straws.

20160831_133502Most of the projects from Home Made Luxe can be completed in 30 minutes or less so it is perfect for a nice Saturday crafternoon, a gift for a decor loving friend or  meet up with your homies that appreciate some good ol’ DIY.
Here are a few photos as I assemble the terrarium.20160831_154345 20160831_15444120160824_114200 20160824_114519

Fun fact: if you do get permanent marker on acrylic it can be removed with rubbing alcohol.

Although the kit does come with glue sticks you have to provide your own glue gun. Clearly mine has seen better days.

Once I hot glued all the pieces together including the straws I let it “set” for about 5 minutes just in case. 20160831_120120_20160831135735434

Now because I am faux fancy I used some of the remaining straws to add more gold lines around the edges. Added the decorative stones, the succulent and voila! It was over just like that.  What I enjoy the most about Home Made Luxe is that it literally brings Pinterest to your doorstep. No more secret boards of things you plan to do Neveruary 31st.  Invite your friends make a night of it because everyone knows nothing pairs better with crafts like chardonnay.
