DIY Citrus Candles

Not ready for summer to leave? Hold on by repurposing a glass candle to match your decor!

You need a container candle (preferably from tictacwax.com)

A citrus rind we used grapefruit. (orange and lemon works also)

A pot of boiling water.

Hot glue gun.

2 Chopsticks, bamboo skewers, popsicle sticks any kind of sticks.

*Optional* a new wick (from a craft store).

Cut your fruit in half. Scoop out all of the pulp be careful so you don’t poke a hole in the rind! Dry and place to the side.

Melt the candle by putting it into a pot of boiling water. If you want you can use this time to make a smoothie with the fruits but keep an eye on the candle.

Take the original wick from the candle or a new one and hot glue it to the center of the rind.

Use your sticks to keep the wick centered.

Once melted pour into rind, let harden, and after a couple hours and you have a remixed candle.

Remember folks just like the summer sun candle wax is hot so be careful. #Avdoeswhat #crafts #candles
