5 Things That Are Considered Luxury, Only In NYC

5 That Are Considered Luxury only in NYC (3)

“…Neeeeew Yoooork Concrete Jungle Where Dreams Are Made Of, There’s Nothing You Can’t Do…” Except find parking.  Although I love this city some things here are considered “high living” when it is standard in other U.S. Cities.  Nu Yawkahs it is time to laugh at ourselves as we look at all the things we don’t have. Here are 5 Things That Are Considered Luxury, Only In NYC.

    1) Dishwashers

I have never used a dishwasher in my life. I wouldn’t even know where to begin. Back in my day in The Bronx we had a different word for this magical appliance. It was called siblings.

    2) A Driver’s License

Thankfully I lived in Connecticut during my teen years so I could obtain this elusive scroll by unlocking Narnia and slaying the forbidden dragon known as a road test.

    3) A Pantry

I visited my friend once a I saw she has a pantry and I haven’t been back to her house since. I don’t have time to be jealous.

    4) A Backyard

Ahhh, something else on this list I actually have.  It came a long way but it is glorious now. Yes Lawd werk!

    5) Linen Closet

My neighbor has one of these and I hate him too.

New Yorkers do you have any of these?  What are some things you wish you had that other cities take for granted?

I am excited, film festival season is in full swing! Independent film directors are from all walks of life are showing their work and proving that you don’t need a big budget to make a great film. With hundreds of screenings, master classes, and performances you can easily see why Tribeca Film Festival is one of the “Holy Grails” for many creatives in the Indie World. Fresh perspectives that stray away from the Hollywood module is more than enough reason to support any of these films.  You can purchase individual tickets for $10-$18 and the schedule can be found here.  Attending these exclusive premiere screenings seems like a surefire way to exhaust your savings, doesn’t it? Well I have the perfect AVenture for you!  “Storyscapes” at the Tribeca Film Festival Presented by Bombay Sapphire GIn is where technology, storytelling and experimentation collide. Imagine how it would be to switch bodies with someone else?  The Machine To Be Another does just that. On particular storyline featuring a dancer and a woman in a wheelchair caught my eye. BeAnotherLab will be presenting a series of Embodied Narratives that will allow you to inhabit the body and life story of another person, while interacting with artifacts from their life. Imagine the possibility of creating stories that can be felt through your own body as something real.

Storyscapes has four other awesome interactive exhibits running until… tomorrow. The good news is that it is all free.  Head down to Spring Studios 50 Varick St. New York, NY and Treat Yo’ Self to a show and delicious complimentary cocktails from Bombay Sapphire. Get the Gimlet it is amazing!
