C’mon ladies now lets get in formation… Get what in formation? Everything and I mean everything your life, health, wealth and crafts.
That is exactly what happened when I teamed up Whitney from Soulista Threads to teach my FIRST crafty party. The goal was to teach “traditional” crafts but make it cool and give it pop culture relavance. After much thought “Cuz I Slay: A DIY Embroidery Class, inspired by Beyonce” was born. It is pretty self explanatory: Embroidery and Bey tunes. From Destiny’s Child greatest hits to Mrs. Cater’s Lemonade We had a ball! Speaking of Lemonade we had a DIY lemonade bar complete with fresh lemonade virgin as well as spiked, sparkilng water (curtesty of Sodastream) fun colorful straws, lemon napkins and themed simple syrups! These syrups really changed the game “Surfboardt” the crowd favorite consisted of Watermelon, ginger and mint, “Deja Vu” (Lime and Basil) and “Cater To You” (Strawberry)
BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE…
You gotta have snacks with your lemonade right? Staying along with the Bey theme “In My Bag” Spicy Red Bean Dip was finished quicker than Farrah’s career with Destiny’s Child. They loved it that much. “Survivor” Salted Caramel Brownies were delish. Rumor has it they were made with love, The glo-up, LaTavia and Matthew Knowles’ tears. Not sure might have to ask Becky with the baked goods.
After social hour we did get around to actual crafting and it was a glorious crafternoon indeed.
Everyone chose their favorite Beyonce lyric and Whitney taught them Embroidery 101 once we were finished we took a group picture that we slayed, effortlessly.
The attendees learned a new skill (embroidery) and have the skills as well as the tools to make gifts for loved ones, use it as a way to relax or create a side hustle if they choose. All while sipping on #Lemonade, slaying with friends and shimmying to Beyonce. Not bad. Did you miss this class?
Don’t let FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) get the best of you. We have an online course! Right now we are offering self paced instruction for you to make your own wall art. Kits are also available for a low presale price.
