I love this house every time I walk by it I feel happy. I imagine myself having a nice garden and hammock where I can read all day. It also inspired my mosaic bookmark!
1) Gather your materials
Paint swatches (free from any home improvement store), Glue (White or scrap booking glue), a square of cardboard, paintbrush, acrylic paint (in a color that complements the paint swatch you choose.) and scissors. Hole puncher and yarn/ribbon are optional but pretty.
2) Outline and cut cardboard to desired shape and hole punch top of the bookmark.
*Note* If you want to clean up your bookmark you can use glue to seal the exposed edges of the cardboard just dab glue and pinch the sides together and let dry.
3) Paint cardboard on both sides desired color I used white.
4) Begin to cut paint swatch into strips, squares in various manageable sizes.
5) Begin to glue your mosaic pieces down.
Once every piece is glued down let dry and seal with Mod Podge. Or a 75% and 25% mixture of Elmer’s glue and water.
While the book mark dries cut your yarn ribbon or decorative fabric into a desired length and loop and tie through the hole you punched earlier.
Voilà you have a bookmark.
