January is literally the month where EVERYONE wants to be more “organized” me included. It is also the time of the year when people take their diet a bit more seriously. Well that makes the perfect time for this kitchen hack.

As you can see I love spices. It makes food so much better.  Having a variety allows me to not rely on salt, seasoning salt, butter to make dishes “taste good.” As for my spice shelf/rack I wanted it to look a bit more uniform and stylish. I got these glass jars from Amazon and etched them. Glass etching is so simple to do. Actually this is the 2nd post showing the technique. This project is actually a combination of my How Make A Personalized Etched Wine Bottle and How To Make A Stencil With Your Cricut Contact Paper posts.

WHAT TO DO

  1. Clean and dry the glass. After you make your stencil with your Cricut and contact paper press hard to ensure it is attached firmly. Use painter’s tape to secure your stencil. .

  2. Cover work surfaces (be sure to work in a well-ventilated area). Put on protective gloves and an old shirt with long sleeves. Paint an even layer of etching cream onto glass. Let stand for amount of time indicated by manufacturer’s instructions (5-10 minutes).

  3. Rinse with warm water in a stainless steel sink. (Avoid porcelain sinks; the cream damages glazed surfaces.) Remove stencil and tape.

Now I have a uniformed and cool look spice rack. As for the left over containers store them in the back of another cabinet.
