If I only had 24 hours in Paris…

Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Whether you call it the “City of Lights” or the “City of Love” this city’s beauty is undeniable. Recently I had the opportunity to visit Paris, the catch? Only for 24 hours.  Well when life gives you lemons make lemon and sugar crepes!

With only 1440 minutes here are some of the things I did in one of the most charming cities in the world!

Got a crepe… Nutella, Coconut and Grand Marnier (keep it classy)

I have never seen the film “Taken” with Liam Neeson but I am sure this is how it starts, on an empty narrow street.

image

Yup that’s exactly how it starts…

image

Place Saint-Michel is a popular meeting place/public square where St. Michael is killing some demons… cool!

image

Walked around in the rain, prayed for it to go away and took pictures until my FREE walking tour starts.

image

Look it is an “American” diner!

Saw some familiar locations like…

“Sex and The City” series finale.

Pont de l’Archeveche.

They say lovers come here with a lock: write their names on it, lock it to the gate, then drop the key in The Seine River to solidify their love. Very beautiful gesture, but some have used combination locks “just in case” it doesn’t last.  I guess.

Da Vinci Code.

image

One of the entrances to The Louvre Museum It is bigger than it appears.

image

Javert’s Suicide from the greatest musical of all time (my opinion is biased) Les Miserables.

The Seine River

Tried to find this guy at the…

image

Notre Dame Cathedral.  No luck.

image

Realized I don’t know as much French as I thought…

image

I don’t think children should read this but hey everyone is different.

image

Rejoice the sky cleared up! Sorta.

image

Ate a Croque Monsieur (a fancy grilled cheese sandwich with ham).

image

Checked out where Van Gogh lived (when he hated France) but can’t see the inside until the current elderly tenant moves or ummm… expires. The closed blinds with the “Sunflowers” on it is the apartment.

image

I wonder if Nicole Kidman is here…but it is about $200 USD to get in so I guess I won’t find out.

image

Don’t lose your head bro… St. Denis was executed on this hill (Montmartre).

They say if you touch the “prominent” part of this singer’s statue your career will blossom beautifully but at the expense of your romantic life. Dalida was extremely successful artist in her 30 year career but her personal life was full of unfortunate events including her own suicide. Her suicide note…

image

(“Life has become unbearable for me… Forgive me.”

image

She is crazy…

image

Me not so much…But if she can make me rich enough so I can pay these student loans off we can work something out.

image

“Hey you are like Bob Ross, the painter on TV. Oh you don’t know who he is?  Moving right along.”

image

A pink and green house? Don’t mind if I do 😉

I am positive that all the evil stuff that happens in every religious horror film were filmed here at this church.  La Basilique du Sacré Coeur de Montmartre is very beautiful but extremely creepy.  I was told the material that was used to build it actually gets whiter and brighter when it rains… pretty cool!

image

Watched the sunset from the highest point of the city.

Stand in line for the Eiffel tower with a dead camera and phone :(…

image

Make friends with people in line and hopefully they will take pictures of you and email them lol…and they did YAY!

image

Go to the VERY top and look at the most gorgeous view ever!

image

Go back to the hotel sleep then hangout by the pool for 15 minutes.

I would love to go back to Paris for longer than 24 hours but it was worth every second until we meet again Bonjour!
