After making some delicious Citrus Sangria I had a ton of leftover oranges and other citrus fruit. Since I am officially on team waste not want not and frugalista at heart. After eating most it I decided to make an all purpose citrus cleaner with the peels. Although I will forever love Fabuloso or Mistolin (Wepa!) as an unnatural cleaning aid, this does do the trick. It cuts grease, leave a nice scent, makes your windows shine and does your taxes! *Note* this does not do your taxes.
What You Need
- A Large Mason Jar
- Citrus peels to fill up the mason jar
- White Vinegar
Peel your fruit.
Fill the jar with white vinegar.
Close lid tightly, store the jar in a dark and cool place for 2 weeks. This allows the oils in the citrus to infuse into the vinegar.
Strain the peels from the vinegar. Discard peels.
Pour your cleaning solution in a spray bottle and dilute with water if you wish.
