If you have been to your local Bed, Bath and Beyond, TJ Maxx, or Target you have seen those modern canvas wall art with inspirational words printed on it. What if I told you that you can make your own? What if I also told you that it didn’t have to say “smile” “laugh” or “love” on it? Would you believe me?

What You Need
- A blank canvas in the size of your choice I use
- Blue Painter’s Tape
- Gold Spray Paint This is my favorite gold spray paint evaaaaa
- Black Acrylic Paint (optional)
- Foam paint brush (optional)
- Cricut, Electronic cutting machine
What To Do
With painter’s tape mask off areas you don’t want to be painted. I played with different spacing to make my stripes interesting. Take gold spray paint and spray away, outside of course.
Quick Spray Paint Tips
- Do light strokes and let dry between coats.
- Over spraying causes drips.
- Don’t forget the sides.
“Flourish” is one of my favorite words and I say it often. Lots of flourishing going on around these parts. It is only right that it is a part of my studio, right? To cut this design I used my nifty Cricut. However, if do not have a Cricut you can print your design on white cardstock and cut it with a craft knife it just takes longer. Stuck on design? Check out our Canva tutorial. It is a free software.
After I “weeded” (remove the access material from the design) my image I realized I wasn’t particularly impressed with the color of the cardstock. I needed it to pop against the gold so I grabbed some acrylic paint so it can be blackity black y’all.
This is completely optional.
I used scrapbooker’s glue I have had this one bottle for TEN years and it has not hardened or dried out. This also reflects how much I DON’T scrapbook. Great glue nonetheless. Use it to glue your letters to canvas and voila magic!
If You Like It You Should Of Put A Pin On It
